What Do Ya Know; Robbie Cano

What do you know?

After 81 at bat's, New York Yankees 2B Robison Cano finally snapped out of his home run drought and launched a deep homer that traveled 431 feet in the top of the 12th inning in last nights game v. the Chicago White Sox.

Unfortunately for the Yankees, Cano's Home Run was the only good news to come out of last nights game.

In the bottom of the ninth inning, Mariano Rivera blew a save by allowing Adam Dunn to slap a rare two out base hit opposite field passed a diving Alex Rodriguez allowing the tying run to score.

Also, moments after Robinson Cano gave the Yankees a lead in the 12th inning, Adam Warren blew the second save opportunity for the New York Yankees in as many as three innings, allowing a deep two out triple to Alejandro De Aza that drove in Tyler Flowers and Alexi Ramirez to give the White Sox a walk off victory v. the Yankees in sweepin' fashion.

The Yankees ended a miserable 2-6 road trip that begin in Los Angeles in the end of June, where they split one game a piece with the Dodgers, dropped 2 out of 3 games to the struggling Padres and were swept away by the AL Central last place Chicago White Sox.

The Yankees are now just one game over .500 at 57-56 and fell 7.0 games back in the American League Wild Card race.

The Yankees will look to make up some ground starting Friday night at home v. the Detroit Tigers, where they'll hand the ball to Ivan Nova and begin a seven game home stand.

If there was ever a time for Robinson Cano to snap out of his Home Run slump, it certainly was last night.
