Playing Third, Batting Fourth, and Pleading the Fifth
Alex Rodriguez made his 2013 MLB Season Debut tonight for the New York Yankees just hours after he was sentenced to a suspension that will force him to miss the entire 2014 season, a punishment he's decided to appeal in front of an arbitrator.
In a pretty eventful evening, almost all of America tuned in to U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago, Illinois at 8:00pm to witness the 'return' of Alex Rodriguez, where skipper Joe Girardi controversially played him at third base and batted him cleanup for the Pinstripes.
The crowd at U.S. Cellular Field booed every at bat for A Rod in batting practice and his every move during pre game warm up's and introductions.
When he stepped into the batters box to lead off the second inning, the fans booed A Rod so loud that they could have easily drained out a nuclear explosion.
Of course it didn't help that A Rod hit a bloop single on his third pitch of the at bat.
What did Alex have to say about Chicago?
"I love Chicago. I love the fans here. It's just a great town, great people."
Im sure they feel the same way about you Alex.....
Alex Rodriguez finished his night 1-4, and collected $172,000 for participating in tonights game.
With his leadoff single in the 2nd inning, Rodriguez has hit successfully in each of his 10 season debut's since signing with the Yankees in '04.
