Ray Rice Back in a Month? Who's Interested?

While a majority of America may cringe at the idea of former Baltimore Ravens super-star Ray Rice playing in the NFL again this season, the reality is he may be reinstated within a month. Even though it's unlikely that he'll be receiving an overwhelming amount of interest from teams in the NFL, there are certainly a few teams that would welcome him with open arms.

Here are the teams who  I believe will be inclined to add Ray Rice if and when the NFL re-instates him from the NFL Exempt List;

Oakland Raiders

Before the season started the Oakland Raiders made a push to win, and to win now, but they're currently 0-5. The Raiders are also ranked last in the NFL in rushing, averaging just 3.9 yards per carry, 72 yards per game, and just one rushing TD through six weeks of play. It's safe to say they would love to have an experienced running back in Ray Rice with plenty left in the tank to balance out their running game, and let's be honest - when have the Raiders ever been an organization to turn away troubled players?

Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns gamble with Ben Tate is finally starting to pay off. But with 47 carries over the past two weeks and his work load drastically increasing, it might be time for the Brownies to stop relying on rookie running back Terrence West as a backup and bring in a big play running back with experience in run protection for the long haul. Not to mention the thought of adding a former pro-bowler from a rival AFC North opponent just to rub it in is certainly lingering in the back of Ray Farmer's mind.

New England Patriots

Aside from the fact that Bill Belichek is probably the only coach that can handle the ordeal of the Patriots losing Aaron Hernandez and than adding Ray Rice over a two-year span just by keeping his mouth shut and keeping the focus strictly on football, the reality is the Patriots are in need of a running back asap. The loss of Steven Ridley for the season is a tough pill for the Patriots to swallow, and it might be a good idea for them to bring Ray Rice into the fold to split time with the already injury-prone Shane Vereen. Bringing in Ray Rice also gives the Patriots the opportunity to bring in a game-changer for dirt cheep, giving them more money to mend their roster via free-agency in the off-season.

Jacksonville Jaguars

When it comes to the running game in the NFL, the Jaguars are an afterthought. Ranking just a notch above the Oakland Raiders at 31st in the league, the Jaguar team rushing average of 69.5 yards per game will drastically increase with the production of Ray Rice. Also, Ray Rice's pass protection and short passing game efficiency will certainly speak volumes for the production of phoneme QB Blake Bortles.

Atlanta Falcons

Steven Jackson is getting older and older by the snap, and with the Atlanta Falcons in the bottom half of the league in rushing with just 5.2 yards per carry failing to balance out Matt Ryan's high flying passing game, the Falcons would love to add a dynamic running back at a fraction of the cost. Imagine Matt Ryan in the pocket with the same player chip blocking and catching passes out of backfield for Joe Flacco all those years? I bet Matt Ryan is drooling at that thought?

San Diego Chargers

Ryan Matthews, the king of fumbles, injuries and mediocre production with just enough promise for the San Diego Chargers to repeatedly make the same mistake year after year, who now has a partial MCL tear, is out for the season, causing the Chargers to rely on Danny Woodhead. While Wodhead is indeed a quicker back, he lacks the talent and consistency that Ray Rice brings to a team. I think adding Ray Rice will give the Chargers plenty of momentum and a chip on their shoulders as they're gearing up to make playoffs.

It should be a pretty exciting and controversial month for the NFL to say the least.
