Dempster Suspended Five Games; Not Enough.

Boston Red Sox Starting Pitcher Ryan Dempster was issued a five game suspension and an undisclosed fine for intentionally trowing at Alex Rodriguez this past Sunday night, MLB Senior Vice President Joe Garagiola Jr. announced mid-day today.

In my opinion I was hoping Bud Selig would use his head a little more in this situation. Five games is a mere slap on the wrist for Ryan Dempster, especially because he probably wont even miss his next scheduled start.

Dempster threw a fastball behind the legs of Alex Rodriguez, two more fastball's up and in, and on the fourth pitch of the at bat, Dempster plunked Alex Rodriguez in an 0-3 count. Mind you Dempster and Red Sox Manager John Farrell continue to insist that Dempster didn't intentionally throw at A Rod and that "he was just trying to establish his fastball."... likely story.
