Bengals Player Devon Still Moved to Tears as Patriots Honor his Sick Daughter

'For every dark cloud there's a silver lining'

Amid the domestic violence issues and drug violations hovering over the NFL like a black cloud, we finally saw some good.

During the third quarter of the Patriots 43-17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday night, Patriot cheerleaders sported the jersey of Bengals defensive linemen Devon Still, whose four year-old daughter is battling neuroblastoma - a form of pediatric cancer.

While the cheerleaders we're wearing his jersey, a music video featuring his daughter and other children battling cancer filled the scoreboard and speakers of Gillette Stadium, and Patriots owner Robert Kraft donated $25,000 to the Cincinnati Children's Hospital and Medical Center.

It's been a rough few months for Devon Still, who was cut at the end of training camp, but later re-signed to the practice squad so that he could continue to receive medical insurance and pay for his daughters medical treatment.

Right before week two, Still was added to Bengals active roster, and in his season debut he recorded three tackles in a win against the Atlanta Falcons. He recorded two tackles in last night's loss to the Patriots, but you can bet he's playing with his daughter's heart on his sleeve each and every snap.

His jersey has been on sale for $100, with all proceeds going to pediatric center for cancer research. Earlier this season, New Orleans Coach Sean Payton paid for 100 jerseys with his own money.

Say what you want about the NFL, but there are some good guys in this sport.

I'd like to personally wish Leah and all the other children across america who are battling cancer the best of luck in their fight going forward. Their strength and courage is immeasurable, and they all deserve better. I wish there was more we can all do - but for everyone reading this blog - why not purchase his jersey?

LEAH STRONG!
