Five NFL Teams That Would Trade For Adrian Peterson Today

Adrian Peterson is a falling star. With child abuse allegations hovering over him like a black cloud and the Minnesota Vikings placing him on the exempt list, his future with the team looks bleak. But - Adrian Peterson is still one of the most talented running backs in the league, and in my opinion the following five teams would trade for him in an instant.

1. Carolina Panthers

Let's call a spade a spade - DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart are flat out getting old and their production rate has fallen off when compared to previous seasons. This should put the Panthers in the market for a RB and Peterson would be a great fit playing with Cam Newton. Combining the two would make the Panthers a very dangerous squad.

2. The Publicly Owned Green Bay Packers

I love the offensive unit that Ted Thompson has put together for the Packers, but let's get one thing straight; Eddie Lacey is not the permanent solution at RB for Green Bay. Call me crazy, but I believe Adrian Peterson would be a perfect fit for the Packers West Coast offensive scheme. Nevertheless, theres probably a less than zero percent chance the Vikings trade Peterson to a divisional rival... unless it's for a package they can't refuse... Draft pick(s) anyone?

3. Jacksonville Jaguars

If there's one thing Jacksonville needs, it's a super star to market. Assuming a trade to a different team and his child abuse charges left behind him would give Peterson a clean slate, he'd be a great marketing tool for the Jags. On the pitch, Peterson can vibe with the soon-to-be super star starting QB Blake Bortles and make the Jaguars a respectable team in the NFL once again.

4. Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys need resurgence. Adrian Peterson is from the city of Dallas, and before the 2014 season he expressed his desire that he would love to come home and play for his hometown. Fortunately for Jerry Jones, it look's as if he might not have to wait too long to make this happen.

5. The New York Football Giants

I can't remember the last time the New York Giants had a featured running back, and with the loss of 23 year old David Wilson to a career ending injury, the Giants desperately need a running back to take the pressure off Eli Manning. Though they may wait until the 2015 draft to find their future RB, I believe Adrian Peterson can step right in and fill the void. With three years left on his contract, why not roll the dice? Someone need's to save football in New York.
