$10,000 Fine for Patrick Roy in His Coaching Debut

Well... he's back, and that did not take long.

Colorado Avalanche head coach Patrick Roy told beat reporters on Thursday afternoon that the league has decided to fine him $10,000 for his antics at the end of his victorious coaching debut.

In a lop-sided game that ended 6-1 in favor of the Avalanche, head coach Patrick Roy got himself involved in a screaming matchup after the clock had expired in Wednesday's night game. The argument began after a scrum had broken out in front of the Avalanche bench. Anaheim Ducks forward Corey Perry was seen yapping towards Patrick Roy, and the argument than escalated once Anaheim's head coach Bruce Boudreau got himself involved.

Patrick Roy also shoved the glass dividing the Avalanche and Ducks benches twice in the midst of his argument, causing it to nearly tip over on the Anaheim coaches and players.

While I do find this embarrassing for Roy and the Avalanche organization, I still think $10,000 is way to steep of a fine.

What do you think?
